Nottinghamshire will now have six new faces representing it in Parliament following the July 4 general election

Nottinghamshire will now be represented in Parliament by lots of new faces after the July 4 general election returned six brand new MPs in the county. The situation mirrors 2019, when there were again six brand new MPs returned for Nottinghamshire as a result of the general election.

Councillor Payne has also served on Nottinghamshire County Council since 2013, now representing Arnold North on that authority. Gedling's new MP has lived in the area for 35 years and as well as his roles in local government, he is also a school governor at the Redhill Academy. Having joined the Labour Party in 2012, Ms Campbell had been serving as a member of Lewisham Council in London before this general election. Serving as the authority's cabinet member for communities, refugees and safety, Ms Campbell had been the councillor for the Blackheath ward since 2018.

Mr Naish has been serving as the leader of Bassetlaw District Council, having first been elected to the authority in May 2019, though he now says he will step down as leader. Mr Naish's professional life has included working for companies including Barclaycard, Shell and Thames Water. Ms Welsh ended up having an emergency C-section which she says was totally avoidable. The Sherwood Forest MP sits on both Nottinghamshire County Council and Gedling Borough Council and previously worked for Vernon Coaker during his time as Gedling's MP and in the House of Lords.
