A mother who took her son to carry out an attack at a Texas megachurch had a history of mental illness, police said Monday.
used an AR-15 style rifle, that was legally purchased in December, in Sunday's Lakewood church shooting in Houston.
Their divorce was finalized in 2022. Other records indicated that Moreno and Carranza had a contentious relationship. Documents revealed the two were involved in a child custody battle that same year. Moreno's ex mother-in-law, Walli Carranza, indicated she had asked for advice from pastoral staff at Lakewood Church, according to court records.
Walli identified the critically injured boy as Samuel. Samuel was named as the child that Moreno and Enrique had together, according to the court filings. First, although my former daughter-in-law raged against Israel and Jews in a pro Palestinian rant yesterday this has nothing to do with Judaism or Islam. Nothing! But this is what happens when reckless and irresponsible reporting let's people with severe mental illness have an excuse for violence.
