The man by her side, husband Douglas Emhoff, could also make history in a supporting role as the inaugural first gentleman. Emhoff has been the partner of Harris for more than a decade but public interest in him has grown as the vice president's career has progressed.Then-Attorney General of California Kamala Harris and Hollywood entertainment lawyer Douglas Emhoff were set up on a blind date by Harris' best friend Chrisette Hudlin back in 2013.Emhoff was on board with the suggestion and didn't play the waiting game.
