Actor Alex McSweeney reprised his role as Graham Foster in EastEnders earlier this year after almost two decades away from Walford. Let's take a look into his life...
Numerous familiar faces have made their way back to Albert Square over recent months in EastEnders, from Cindy Beale's shocking return from the dead to Keanu Taylor's surprise reappearance.
However, Freddie found out that Graham raped his mum, Little Mo, resulting in her falling pregnant, and he cut all ties with his father after confronting him at his work place.Alex is a writer, director and actor who hails from Lambeth, London. He trained at London Academy of Performing Arts, and the Academy Drama School. Prior to EastEnders, he starred in shows such as The Bill, Keen Eddie and In Deep.
Alex took on the recurring role of D.S. Sykes in Hollyoaks from 2013 until 2014 and also appeared in Call the Midwife in 2016. In 2011, he wrote and directed the play A Hero of Our Time, which won rave reviews from critics. After details of his EastEnders return were revealed in 2023, Alex said he was "grateful" to be back on the soap. He said: "I’m grateful to be asked to reprise the role of Graham as I thought it was important for Freddie to be given some answers about his dad. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the talented Bobby Brazier."
