European Championships winner, Women’s Super League top scorer, World Cup goalscorer… It has been a 12 months to remember for England football star Rachel Daly, over a decade on from her time at Lincoln Ladies.
She carried that momentum on with a staggering record-equalling 22-goal haul as a striker in the Women’s Super League this past season at Aston Villa. Rachel recalls this decision during an interview with Englandfootball.com: “I’m quite an ambitious and driven person and always chasing new challenges, so that’s what eventually led me to where I am now.
Playing for St John’s University Red Storm between 2013-15, Daly broke records for goals and points, before being drafted into the National Women’s Soccer League with Houston Dash in 2016. It was here, in her first full season, where she scored 22 goals in 22 games to equal Vivianne Miedema’s record for the most goals in a single WSL season, and was named Player of the Season in the process.
