Tom Lister played Carl from 2004 to 2012 In recent Emmerdale scenes, Tom King was finally apprehended by police and charged for his abuse of Belle Dingle , much to the delight of fans. Before facing his comeuppance from the law, he had a final showdown with Belle, in which she pointed out that in trying to distance himself from his dad’s evil reputation, he had become just like him.
However, Carl knew she was having an affair with Cameron, and had been blackmailing the pair to repay the money she’d taken for their ill-intentioned nuptials. He confronted her, and later went toe-to-toe with Cameron in a church, with the pair insulting each other. After another confrontation, Carl tried to rape Chas in the back of a campervan – so she smashed a brick over his head in a bid to escape.
