A group of about 50 neo-Nazis, dressed head to toe in black and wearing face coverings, stormed the small regional NSW town of Corowa, just across the border from Victoria, on Saturday.
Videos showed a masked member of the group carrying a flag bearing the logo for the National Socialist Network . The company has been the subject of several debunked conspiracy theories, including that it was somehow involved in an assassination attempt on Donald Trump. More recently, the firm was falsely linked to Hurricane Helene by conspiracy theorists. In Victoria and NSW, it is illegal to display nazi symbols or perform nazi salutes in public. The maximum penalty for the crime is a fine of $23,000 or up to a year in prison.NSW Premier Chris Minns said the Corowa neo-Nazi rally was “despicable”.
