“I have tried to ask how my application is going many times, but they just say they need time to process it.” SBS News understands at least 50 Iranian students with PhD scholarship offers have also been waiting more than a year. He said the most frustrating part of the process has been a lack of response from the Department of Home Affairs.“Instead, we are just left waiting, and you ask them many times for an update, and the response is just a generic email with the names changed.”The students have launched online petitions, which have collectively attracted more than 2,300 signatures.
