As consumers adjust to the impact of the rising cost of living, Coles has increased its own-brand milk price by 10 cents per litre. But for farmers, it feels like redemption.
Coles has lifted the price of its own milk by 10 cents a litre due to supply chain "cost increases"
"We don't take the decision to raise prices lightly, particularly because of the increased cost-of-living pressures faced by our customers," they said. Peak body Dairy Australia acknowledged the jump in its latest report on the state of the industry, noting that retail dairy prices had "increased at the fastest rate compared to all other food groups".
