James and Sally eventually got around to contacting National Lottery HQ and now plan to buy a shed and a front door

A laid back couple waited for four weeks to check their emails from The National Lottery before learning that they had in fact banked £10,000 every month for one year on Set For Life. James Briggs, 42, and wife Sally, 40, are still in shock after matching the five main numbers in the Set For Life draw.

“It was a Sunday night and Sally and I were getting bits and bobs sorted before returning to work the next day. I was checking my emails while watching TV. I didn’t say anything to Sally but decided I’d call the National Lottery line the next day and see if all these emails were true. And the couple haven’t wasted any time since learning of their big win and have been thinking about how they want to spend it, but with their parents advice in mind - ‘enjoy yourselves, but wisely.’ Their lottery wish-list includes a ‘she shed’, laptop, holiday and even a new front door, and they have already paid off the car loan with their first instalment of their winnings.
