An Eagles rookie is recovering from an injury but when he gets on the field, his versatility could turn him into a new weapon in two phases of the game.
Wide receiver Ainias Smith, the Eagles' fifth-round draft pick, observes a drill during the team's rookie minicamp Friday.stood off to the side during Friday’s rookie minicamp practice. While most of the receivers were running routes and taking in the instructions and details mentioned by wide receiver coach, Smith was listening off to the side, limited to being a spectator because he was recovering from an injury discovered during the combine process.
Smith was selected in the fifth round, later than many draft analysts and prognosticators had him going. However, when he does take the field, Smith could become a dynamic player on the field, and a reason why he succeeded in college and potentially in the NFL is his father’s advice, who helped guide him through the process.
