Visual depicting the cast of My Deer Friend Nokotan in the anime
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One of the many anime joining the summer 2024 lineup is My Deer Friend Nokotan from Wit Studio, the studio behind Spy x Family in conjunction with CloverWorks. The series revolves around former delinquent Torako trying to pass herself off as a normal girl, only for her always to get wrapped up in the bizarre antics of Nokotan, a deer-girl hybrid with an absurd personality and even more absurd abilities.
On the surface, that might seem incredibly odd, but there are good reasons for it that perfectly play into the anime’s strength. Some of the more technical aspects of My Deer Friend Nokotan have also done wonders to draw attention to it. In addition to the wonderfully surreal nature of the story and cast, My Deer Friend Nokotan has all the same fluid artwork and animation that Wit Studio is famous for and helped make Spy X Family and other anime popular.
