It’s also been suggested that the superstition comes from an incident that took place on Friday the 13th in 1307, when Philip IV of France arrested hundreds of the Knights Templar.Norse mythology also has its own explanation, with the story “13” concerning a feast attended by 12 gods in Valhalla, which was gatecrashed by Loki, the god of mischief.
In Italy, 13 is actually believed to be a lucky number, which was also the case in ancient Egypt and China.
