Jango Fett was the perfect clone template.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The clone troopers that made up the army of Star Wars’ Galactic Republic were, unsurprisingly, clones of one man named Jango Fett, and there are several reasons he was the perfect choice for the clones’ model. Jango Fett was a Mandalorian bounty hunter in the service of Count Dooku, though this job on Kamino is much different from what his normal roles might normally entail.
This code of silence makes a bounty hunter the perfect choice for the clone trooper model, since the entire scheme relies on complete secrecy. Darth Sidious carefully orchestrated his plan to create this clone army through Count Dooku and Sifo-Dyas, the latter of whom was promptly killed. After the entire planet of Kamino was deleted from the Jedi archives, it would be very difficult for anyone to make the connections before Sidious was ready to activate the Clone Wars.
Jango Fett Accepting The Deal Makes Perfect Sense After The Mandalorian Close The clone Jango Fett requested would be genetically unaltered, a perfect copy of himself that would grow like an ordinary child. The Mandalorian clarified this idea in more detail, shedding light on the idea that Mandalorian foundlings such as Jango Fett and Din Djarin would have no family of their own. This would set up Jango Fett to be completely devoted to his work, but also to value the chance to have a family.
