The most surprising and annoying thing about the British landscape is the huge number ofthat are dotted all over the country, an environmentalist who walked the length of the country has said.
“It’s symptomatic of an attitude that signifies that we as a species think we are above nature. A plastic lawn is the ultimate way of saying ‘ha ha nature, you’re not going to come near my garden’,” Mr Morgan-Grenville added. They are also bad for biodiversity by depriving nature of a potentially-valuable habitat for flowers, insects, worms, birds and other wildlife, he argues.
He concedes that lawnmowers produce CO2 emissions but argues that these are far lower than those generated by manufacturing and transporting plastic grass.
