Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has one year remaining on his contract at Anfield
Liverpool supporters saw their hopes of an extension for Trent Alexander-Arnold dashed after theories were raised on social media. The Reds academy graduate and vice-captain is into the final 12 months of his current contract at Anfield as reports of interest from Real Madrid swirl. The England defender is one of three players facing uncertainty over their futures with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah left with one year remaining on their deals.
However, the real reason for the work in the Anfield Road stand was that the front edge of the roof was undergoing repair work with reports that the covers have been in place for at least a week. Alexander-Arnold was among the names left out of the initial 28-man squad that travelled to Pittsburgh for the next stage of pre-season preparations for Arne Slot's side. Following England's route to the final, Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez have been afforded a break.
