100 days of lockdown: we mustn't forget how we got here.In my desperation to feel normal again, get on with life and put a plaster on the trauma, I’d forgotten exactly what I, along with everyone else in the world, have been through. But there it was, in my black-and-white, often hard to decipher, inky scrawl.
I clearly hadn’t dealt with it all properly, and employed a temporary coping mechanism. So, once I finally started crying, it unplugged nearly five months of lockdown emotions – it’s hardly surprising I couldn’t stop.Lockdown mental health: why do we bottle up our emotions when we know it’s bad for us?for recovery from the coronavirus mental health crisis. That’s why, as lockdown restrictions continue to ease, we mustn’t forget the 100 days that have led us here. It’s been a period of collective grief and trauma, and it doesn’t just stop because we’reThe pandemic is far from being over. Life isn’t like what it was before. Things are very different and probably will be for a long time. We’re continuing to go through a lot. But I do believe that right now is a moment to stop, reflect and heal.
