Bernadette Weir claims her husband, Edward, was treated in an 'undignified' way following his sudden death in March.
A Scots widow has demanded a refund from a funeral directors following the 'undignified' treatment of her dead husband. Edward Weir collapsed in front of his wife and son at their home in Muirhead, Lanarkshire , on March 19.
She paid the company a £1,400 deposit to secure a special send-off for him. However, his body lay untouched for the next eight days. After phoning A. Milne Independent Funeral Directors on several occasions, Bernadette decided to get in touch with a different parlour. Bernadette explained: "I phoned the office a few times but they didn't answer.
"My husband was lying in a fridge with the clothes he had on that night. He never even had an identity tag on him. She said: "I asked them to give my deposit back and they told me to send over my bank details. They then said I'd sent them the wrong details. I explained that I may have made a mistake because I'm going through a traumatic time.
"I'm so angry. I can't sleep because I keep thinking about the way they treated my husband. My head keeps going round and around. I don't understand how they cared so little about him.
