As the WNBA prepares to enter its 27th season, the league arrives in Canada. Saturday’s contest between the Lynx and Sky is more than just a preseason game. It’s a showcase of what the WNBA could look like in Toronto.
Abrahams knows the impact the WNBA Canada Game could have as the league eyes expansion. Growing up around basketball in Toronto, he’s not surprised by the excitement around the preseason contest.

Kelly Boucher was born in Calgary, Alberta. After playing for 12 years in countries worldwide such as Israel, Spain, Germany and France, Boucher received an opportunity to participate in an open tryout for the Charlotte Sting. She made the team, and in 1998, Boucher became the first Canadian to play in the WNBA.
