'Who are we to condemn?' Denzel Washington slams his fellow A-listers for judging Will Smith after the Oscars slap
Denzel Washington, 67, said on Saturday that he and Tyler Perry prayed with Will Smith at the Oscars after the King Richard actor struck Chris Rock. 'Who are we to condemn? I don't know all the ins and outs of the situation, but I know the only solution was prayer,' Washington told bishop T.D. Jakes.
It comes as two of Smith's projects, Bad Boys 4 and the Netflix film Fast and Loose are put on hold following Sunday's incident. During his acceptance speech as Best Actor, Smith said that Washington told him 'At your highest moment, be careful, that's when the devil comes for you'.
