They broke some rules
The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, took to Liverpool on Thursday, January 12, for their first public outing since Prince Harry's book release. The royal couple took a tour of the new state-of-the-art hospital, where they were met by staff.
It provided a perfect opportunity for William and Kate to thank the hardworking hospital staff for their efforts and, during the visit, staff were overheard talking about how "kind" the couple were. However, the Prince and Princess broke royal protocol during their visit by posing for a selfie. The couple posed for a selfie with healthcare assistant Anne O'Hara but while it was a nice thing for them to do, royal protocol dictates that selfies with fans is discouraged, the Liverpool Echo reports. The rule became publicly known after Meghan Markle admitted she was not allowed to take a selfie with a fan shortly after starting her relationship with Prince Harry.
