The Prince and Princess of Wales received a personal invitation from a schoolboy to attend his school in honour of World Mental Health Day but the couple could not attend due to prior commitments.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have issued a rare personal public apology online after turning down a sweet invitation from a schoolboy.
In the touching letter, Freddie explains that the project is made up of a group of 11 to 14-year-old boys who meet each week to develop ideas and projects to raise awareness about male mental health. However, William took the rare next step of sending out a public message to Freddie in which he apologised for not being able to attend.
At yesterday's forum in Birmingham in conjunction with BBC Radio One, the future King and Queen chatted with youngsters about the mental health challenges their generation faces. She also wore a gorgeous pair of star earrings that were actually given to her on an engagement earlier this year The 41-year-old royal had been very moved by Mrs Renton's gesture and fiercely hugged her as she promised to wear them in memory of Sarah's daughter.
