The Prince and Princess of Wales have been happily married for twelve years but their relationship that dates all the way back to their university days has not always been so plain sailing.
Kate Middleton was once "left in tears" after Prince William "disappointed" her by cancelling their "big plans" at the last minute.
The couple briefly split back in 2007, several years after their graduation and one report claims that William once left his future wife in tears after he cancelled an important plan without notice. He reportedly told the Princess of Wales on Boxing day that he would be staying with his own family instead despite having promised that he would spend time with the Middletons.
In April 2007 when the news broke that William and Kate had broken up after years of dating, the late Queen was said to be "disappointed" by the news according to sources.
