The man behind the disastrous Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow was forced to cancel his 'dream wedding' after the event was slammed by parents and children alike

The organiser of the disastrous Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow, which faced a lot of online criticism and even went viral, has said he is "truly sorry" and revealed that his dream wedding has been cancelled.

Now, an investigation into the experience, Wonka: The Scandal That Rocked Britain, is being aired on Channel 5 on Saturday, 16 March, at 7.35pm. The programme reveals how organisers used artificial intelligence to create fake adverts and posters showcasing a magical wonderland but, in reality, rented a warehouse and filled it with cheap-looking props and cardboard cut-outs.

"Regarding a personal matter, there will be no wedding, and no wedding was funded by ticket sales", he told The Sunday Times. The Mirror had earlier worked out that the company would have made £29,750 from the event if people hadn't started complaining. "I want to make it clear that anyone who was hired externally or offered their help, are not affiliated with me or the company, any use of faces can cause serious harm to those who did not have any involvement in the making of this event.
