The governor says his veto helped 'trans kids' in Wisconsin.

Tony Evers on Tuesday vetoed a bill that would have prevented student athletes from competing on sports teams that do not correspond with their assigned gender at birth., AB 377, was sponsored by a slew of Republican state lawmakers.
“When you veto something, you don’t date it, you don’t put anything, you just put ‘not approved,’ on the line” Evers said in the clip. “And we have now helped our kids, our trans kids.” Reacting to the news was women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines, who has been a fervent advocate for biological women athletes since her time at the University of Kentucky.Gaines went on to instruct her Wisconsin followers to contact their state legislators.
President of the Wisconsin Institute of Law and Liberty Rick Esenberg said Gov. Evers misinterpreted the bill.. “It's not gay or lesbian kids. The bill is aimed at the problems presented by biological boys who feel - or claim to feel - that they should be girls and want to play on girls teams. This can defeat the purpose for which girls teams were established.”
