Julie Kennedy's new novel, Ma Mum & William Wordsworth, explores the poignant journey of 15-year-old Erin, growing up in Lanarkshire during the late 1970s.
Julie Kennedy is a celebrated local writer and poet whose work has been featured in prestigious poetry magazines such as New Writing Scotland, Causeway/Cabhsair, Southword, and publications by the Poetry Society.
The novel, interwoven with the poetry of William Wordsworth, follows Erin’s journey as she finds solace and strength in Wordsworth’s work. “I am thrilled to share Erin’s story, set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of New Lanark and Corra Linn, which are central to the novel’s narrative.” The event at New Lanark on August 24 at 11am will feature a historical talk on Wordsworth’s 1803 visit, a reading by Julie Kennedy, followed by a discussion and book signing.
