The imminent closure of the Liddell power station may be a “reality check” for the NSW government to invest in firming generation, to back up weather-dependent renewables, according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.
NSW Labor’s Energy Minister admitted the closure of the Liddell power station in a couple of weeks’ time will impact supply.
“But if recent history is any guide, wishful thinking and green politics will always trump reality, at least until the lights start going out, people can’t heat their homes anymore, and more and more of our manufacturing jobs head offshore.”
