Frustrating as the losses might have been for Gilas Pilipinas in this FIBA World Cup, where they finished 0-3 in Group A and bowed out of second round contention, all is not lost for the home team.

The lone Paris Olympics outright berth for Asia is still up for grabs thanks to Japan's 89-109 loss to Australia on Tuesday, August 29, the same day the Philippines fell to Italy, 83-90.Both defeats denied co-hosts Japan and the Philippines a second round entry and thus kept the race for that Olympic berth for one Asian team open. The Asian team with the highest finish in the tourney gets to qualify for the Olympics next year.

'We have two games left for the classification for the Olympics and a spot is still up for grabs so we gotta keep fighting.' Fighting is something that Edu's been doing since the beginning of this World Cup.While his stats aren't necessarily eye-popping, his hustle and overall activity on the floor especially on the defensive end had helped Gilas to keep in step with the Dominican Republic, Angola, and Italy.
