Selena Gomez is celebrating her return to Waverly Place. In an Instagram post March 22, Disney Channel posted sweet then-and-now photos of the 31-year-old actor and her co-star David Henrie, announcing that the “Wizards of Waverly Place” sequel will release sometime this fall. Gomez shared her excitement for the revival, commenting, 'WE ARE BACK!!
with the heart eyes and magic wand emoji. In her Instagram Story, Gomez reposted the image and wrote, 'Guess what?! WE GOT PICKED UP FOR SEASON 1!' Deadline first reported the news of the sequel in January. Earlier this year, Disney Branded Television confirmed that Gomez and Henrie will be reuniting for the series' pilot episode. Gomez will revive her character, Alex Russo, in a guest-starring role in the pilot.
