Young woman shot dead near Lidl in 'senseless' killing in broad daylight
A 19-YEAR-OLD woman was killed in a suspected shooting near Lidl in Blackburn this afternoon.Emergency services were called to reports of a shooting in Blackburn, Lancs, todayArmed cops were called to reports of gunshots in the Kings Street area of the Lancashire town.Police have launched a manhunt for the attacker who fled the scene in a light, possibly green-coloured, Toyota Avensis.
DCI Jonathan Holmes, of Lancashire Police, said: “This is a truly shocking and senseless killing, which has robbed a young woman of her life. “Although the victim has yet to be formally identified, we believe she was a young woman from the local area.
