The emergency services attended the incident on the A71 yesterday between Newmilns and Darvel.
A woman has died in a horror two-vehicle crash on a busy A-road. Blue light workers raced to the A71 between Newmilns and Darvel in Ayrshire shortly after 11am yesterday.
The 52-year-old male driver of the silver Mercedes Vito was taken to Crosshouse University Hospital in Kilmarnock, also with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was shut down for crash investigation work and re-opened at around 9pm. Sergeant Martin Cunningham said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at what is a difficult time for all. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1148 of Thursday, 17 October, 2024.
