A hard-working baker, Lauren Tomlinson, is celebrating a trio of heartwarming Christmas joys - overcoming cancer, expecting a child despite medical odds, and an astonishing £800,000 lottery win. After battling cancer and subsequent surgeries, the 33 year old was told she might struggle to get pregnant.

Running a home-based cake business with her mother from a cabin in their garden in Rotherham, South Yorks, Lauren envisages using the money to expand their business. Overwhelmed by the turn of events, she shared: "I’m absolutely gobsmacked, this is beyond words. It is life-changing.The Tomlinson family has faced a difficult journey - Lauren's and her mother's battles with cancer, and the father's serious health setback.

She said that she had built the business so she could be at home with her parents and "try to heal" after losing her brother five years ago. She added: "We’re so busy with the cakes. We had four yesterday and five booked in for today. But I will carry on doing them.Lauren and her partner Brandon Banks, 24, discovered she was expecting a baby despite doctors warning she might struggle to conceive following a series of cancer operations.
