Woman, 39, pleads not guilty to assisting FGM of girl in Kenya

A WOMAN has pleaded not guilty after facing accusations of assisting a young girl to undergo female genital mutilation in Kenya.

In an appearance at the Old Bailey, she was slammed with accusations of aiding and abetting a non-UK citizen. The court heard that the procedure was a “type-1 female genital mutilation which involves the entire removal of the clitoris”.
