The road remains shut following the crash at 3.50pm today
A man and woman have been rushed to hospital following a horrendous crash on the A77 today. Emergency services raced to the scene near Minishant around 3.50pm.
A 62-year-old woman had to be airlifted to The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and a 59-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital. Police have confirmed that the road between Maybole and the B7045 Hoggs Corner remains shut following the smash several hours ago. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.50pm on Thursday, 31 August, 2023, we were called to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A77, Minishant.
"Emergency services attended. A 59-year-old man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock and a 62-year-old woman was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.Read next:
