The driver gave a false name to police
A woman who gave police a false name after a horrific collision in West Northamptonshire, which left two people with life-long injuries, has admitted to dangerous driving. Tashalee Woodhall-Murray's driving led to a woman in her 80s requiring major surgery and her daughter having diminished brain function.
The two women in the Hyundai – a woman in her 60s, and her mother, were rushed to University Hospital Coventry with "catastrophic injuries." It was also later discovered that Murray's two children, who had been travelling in the back of the car, had not been wearing buckled seatbelts. Murray also lied to officers about her age and address, telling them she was 47 and from Staverton. She was later caught out after the details she gave were found to be false and she had been driving without a valid driving licence.
Murray was charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and one count of perverting the course of justice. She pleaded guilty to all three offences at Northampton Crown Court in January.Lead Investigator – Detective Constable Ady Tredwell, said: “This is one of those cases that will stay with me a very long time and my heart goes out to the family of these two wonderful women.
