A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 88-year-old man at an assisted living facility. The pensioner’s death in School Lane in Banbury, Oxfordshire, was reported to Thames Valley Police at 7:26pm on Monday night.
A murder investigation was then launched by the force’s Major Crime Unit. A 53-year-old woman, from Northamptonshire, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday. She remains in police custody.Investigating officer Detective Inspector Alice Broad said: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation and our inquiries thus far indicate there is no threat to the wider community.
“There is likely to be a police presence in the area for a number of days, so if you have any concerns or questions then please ask one of our officers or staff. We will continue to keep the public updated as our investigation continues.”
