Manchester Police say they responded to an apartment at 259 Chestnut Street at around 5 a.m.A woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a man in Manchester, New Hampshire Sunday morning, according to the state attorney general.
Carrie Drake, 54, is accused of stabbing Vernon Hayford, 75, at an apartment on Chestnut Street early Sunday morning. Police responded to the apartment around 5 a.m. and found a man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The case was first reported as a suspicious death.
The AG's office said Drake was in custody and expected to be arraigned on Monday at Manchester Circut Court. An autopsy will also be conducted Monday.Authorities say there does not appear to be a threat to the public.
