She pulled a green bottle of Eldorado tonic wine out from her jacket pocket
Kelly Keating, 31, chased the victim through Glasgow's Jamaica Street while brandishing a bottle on May 10, 2022.Keating pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting the boy.
She also admitted possession of a knife in a public place without reasonable excuse or lawful authority.Keating came to their attention around 11pm. Prosecutor Jessica McGowan said:"It was clear she was intoxicated, acting erratically and screaming in the street."Ms McGowan added:" and chased the boy while brandishing the bottle in front of her.The young trio moved away as a 999 call was made.During a search, an orange-handled knife was recovered from her jacket pocket.
Michael Gallen, defending, told the court:"Undoubtedly, this was a horrific experience for the victim not withstanding his age."Having pursued the victim, she walked away and he went back to his friends. There was no other engagement." Sentence was deferred pending background reports until the end of the month by Sheriff Gerard Considine.
