Woman choked to death on marshmallow while trying to copy challenge on Love Island
A WOMAN, 30, choked to death on a marshmallow after trying to copy a Love Island challenge, her mum told an inquest.5The night before she died an episode of the ITV favourite had seen Lucie Donlan throwing marshmallows into Tommy Fury's mouth.meant she tragically couldn't cough it up when she began to choke.
Her mum, Carol, told the inquest: "Apparently on Love Island they did a marshmallow challenge, you put marshmallows in the mouth. That's what she wanted to do with two friends." Paramedics were called to the holiday park in Abersoch, North Wales, as Mia choked on the marshmallow - but the young woman died.The hearing in Caernarfon heard Mia had initially been fed on a liquid only diet before being able to eat soft foods.Locked-in syndrome is when a person is completely aware and conscious but they cannot communicate verbally as they are virtually completely paralysed.
Total locked-in syndrome is when the sufferer is not even able to communicate with eye movements as their eyes are paralysed as well.
