A woman in her 70s has died following an incident on the M6 in Lancashire. Emergency services were called to a concern for welfare for the woman between junctions 31 and 32 of the M6 , near Preston, Lancashire , at around 9.45pm yesterday . The woman died at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services, reports Lancs Live . A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: 'At around 9.45pm on Saturday we were called to reports of a concern for welfare on the M6 between junctions 31 and 32.
Our thoughts remain with her loved ones at this difficult time. Police and National Highways were also called to a separate incident on the M6 between junction 33 and J32 shortly after 10pm. The motorway was closed in both directions until after midnight due to a reported crash. No further details have been released about this incident.
