Police said at the time that Edwards and Watts had agreed to meet so Watts could visit her daughter, whom Edwards had custody of.
A family member told WFAA-TV that Edwards, 52, was the “life of the party” and beloved by many.Watts was previously declared incompetent to stand trial and committed to a mental health facility, but was found competent in a re-evaluation this year.
