The victim is said to be in a 'stable' condition
A woman said she feared 'something terrible had happened' when she saw police putting up a white tent in her local park. Neighbours living close to the bandstand in Newsham Park expressed their shock at the stabbing of a 19-year-old boy on Monday afternoon. The victim was found in the Tuebrook park with stab wounds to his upper body at around 5.55pm, when police were called by paramedics. The teenager was taken to hospital where police said he remains in a stable condition.
None of the locals saw or heard anything but when we saw the white tents go up we were scared something terrible had happened. I'm glad to know he's doing okay.' John Barry has been living in the Newsham Park area for over 30 years. He told the ECHO: 'Nothing like this has happened in all that time. The youths all come here, it's a meeting point for them. A lot of the time it's not even kids, it's men in their 20s causing trouble.
