A woman was filmed dumping a bag of seven newborn puppies next to a bin in scorching heat.
CCTV showed her getting out of a Jeep, walking up with the pups in a clear plastic bag, opening the lid of the bin, then flinging the puppies behind it and leaving them there. They were only found because a passerby named John happened to rummage through the bin area, find them, and alert animal welfare authorities.Otherwise, the three-day old terrier mixes would have been unlikely to survive the 30C temperatures in Coachella, California.Department of Animal Services Commander Chris Mayer said: ‘The good Samaritan played a major role in saving theses puppies’ lives.
Riverside County Sheriff’s investigators and the District Attorney’s office say they are building an animal cruelty case.
