Kolalou’s attorney Sean Brown said he would appeal the jury’s decision while his client denied responsibility for Walker’s death.But in her sentencing, Walowski cited testimony and reports from a set of charges against Kolalou related to her conduct while in the Cook County Department of Corrections, including several reports of discipline for verbal abuse toward officers and a fight that left a correctional officer with a broken ankle.
Flowers, a candle and old police tape are outside the home in the 5900 block of North Washtenaw Avenue on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, where Frances Walker was found dead Monday inside the residential building. “I couldn’t be where happiness was,” she said. “People were moving around me, but I couldn’t bring myself to move.”
