Preliminary: an adult female was stabbed by two children described as being 8 and 12 yrs old. The children fled the scene. The female has been transported to a hospital in serious condition.
Torres said the woman suffers from mental issues and her brother had come to check on her when he found she had been stabbed. Deputies arrived at the scene and found the woman with several stab wounds to her abdominal area. Torres said she was taken to the hospital and is in surgery. She is reportedly in critical condition.
Torres said the information they have received is that two male children had gotten into a verbal altercation with the woman earlier in the day. They reportedly left, but later returned and another altercation occurred with the woman. The woman was stabbed in the second altercation. Torres said they have obtained security camera footage of the incident and have two juveniles detained. When asked what the ages of the two juveniles were, Torres said he didn’t know exactly, but they were both under the age of 17.Christian Terry covered digital news in Tyler and Wichita Falls before returning to the Houston area where he grew up.
