David Burrows was killed by Anya Foster
The family of a cyclist who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run have paid tribute to him. David Burrows was cycling to work when he was hit and critically injured
Rather than admitting her actions, the 32-year-old spun 'a web of lies' and tried to mislead police 'at multiple stages'. She eventually admitted her actions and, on November 5, Tuesday, Foster received a sentence of six years and eight months at Liverpool Crown Court, as well as an 11-year driving ban, reports the Liverpool Echo.Amidst their grief, David's family delivered a heartfelt tribute: They said: "We as a family, are to this day heartbroken to lose our David.
"We would like to thank Merseyside Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, the nurses, and doctors at Whiston Hospital and especially those who helped David on that fateful morning. David will always be in our hearts and never be forgotten." Foster, from Gloucester Street, St Helens, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed limit for two separate controlled substances, driving whilst unfit through drugs, failing to stop after a collision and failing to report a collision.
