An investigation is now underway, with extensive inquiries being carried out by a dedicated team of officers. Detectives say they are keen to trace a white van that was parked in the area, which officers are treating as being linked to the attack.Detective Inspector Gary Smillie said: “This incident took place shortly after the closure of a nearby nightclub, so we know there will have been a number of people and taxis in the area.
“We understand this is an extremely concerning incident and we are conducting increased high-visibility patrols in the area. “Any information could prove vital to our investigation, so please call police on 101, quoting incident 0807 of 28 May, 2024.
