Traffic on the busy road was brought to a standstill
A woman has been rushed to hospital after a three-vehicle pile-up in Ayrshire. Emergency services raced to the scene on the A78, near Kilwinning, around 5.30pm.
One woman was taken to hospital and a man has since been charged in connection with the incident, cops confirmed this evening. Reports of heavy tailbacks of traffic in and around the accident site were reported on social media. "One woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital to be checked over. Recovery was arranged for all three vehicles and the road reopened at around 6.45pm. A man has been charged in connection with the incident and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
