A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The 37-year-old was in the town’s Darroch Park on Sunday when the suspect is alleged to have inflicted injuries which required hospital treatment.
Detectives say the incident took place during the afternoon and it is claimed a verbal altercation between the pair turned violent. A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday.Detective constable Colin Leggat said: “Enquiries into this incident remain ongoing and we are appealing for any members of the public who were in the park at the time and may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.
