As a man in my mid-20s, I stuck out like a sore thumb among the crowds of middle-aged women packed into the Grand Opera House for the opening night of Women on the Verge of HRT.
As the show opens, we meet Anna, a middle-aged Daniel O'Donnell-obsessed woman in a loveless marriage and her friend Vera whose 50-year-old husband has left her for a woman half his age. It is fair to say, that as a man I will thankfully never have to go through menopause but Marie Jones has captured the experience of many women in this stage of their life with her infectious humour that will leave your jaws sore with laughter.
